Yu Qiyu has published more than 20 research papers in Nano Res., Nanoscale, Inorg. Chem., Langmuir, J. Phys. Chem. C and other academic journals. His research  interests include the synthesis of colloidal II–VI semiconductor quantum dots and metal halide perovskite nanocrystals, and corresponding mechanistic studies, and   the design, preparation, and application of various silica micro/nanomaterials.
